We ended up filling 26 bags which I dropped off last night at Bambini Early learning as they have  collection point there. If you have stuff to come tomorrow I will sort out the last run tomorrow. They collect donations of pre-loved nursery equipment, cots, prams, car seats, clothes and other baby essentials. These donations are distributed to Geelong families experiencing hardship through our partnerships with maternal and child health nurses and local social service agencies. Here is my Collaborate for a Cause entry I have been working on with Erica from Pink Pug Designs . We are raising money for PUG RESCUE & ADOPTION VICTORIA INC. and Saffron on the Hill Inc l Inc. Bidding begins 26th July 8pm to 28th July 8pm.

Erica from Pink Pug Designs & I are Collaborating for a cause (in this case two) She has chosen her charity to be Pug Rescue Victoria and mine is Saffron on the Hill Inc We are making some items and donating them to a charity auction page c alled Collaborate for a Cause We will be splitting whatever the auction makes between our two charities. So far I have made 6 pug soaps. If you've seen Erica's work her contribution is going to be amazing! Have a lovely week everybody. Been making a bunch of journals, notepads, etc to donate to the open day that is on early next month. So excited, will g et to meet the doggies and the wonderful Karen + so many nice other people too. Here's a preview of whats going on. Please note : Miguel is the quality control inspector and adds fur to EVERYTHING! If you get some pug fur in yours, consider it a bonus.  Currently up to 38 pieces, time permitting I will make a few more.  Those not in the know: Saffron on the Hill Dog Rescue Inc is a Not-for-profit organisation that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes dogs. We fund our work through the sales of our dog accessories, auctions, fundraiser events and through voluntary donations from our wonderful supporters.

The final batches of pug soap are curing! It has taken ages but I have used up all of my supplies. Soaps will be in the store as of next week (Monday or Tuesday at this stage) I have had a few inquiries about lip balms / glosses too. Sor ry I cant promise a date at this stage, they are time consuming but I am hoping late next week. Thanks for all your support and interest. I donated a few soaps for an auction to raise money for Saffron on the Hill Inc both lots are already up to $50 for 6 soaps so I'm pretty happy with that. They have some very cute things up for auction. So if you're feeling charitable & love doggies make a bid. 

Pug Soap production is going well, it is a slow process but I'm slowly getting there. Still waiting on pink grapefruit oil to arrive (supplier sent wrong one) and Lavender. I think that will be the entire new range at this stage. Also, people keep asking are they for dogs or humans ? They are for human use. Here's a preview of the new range:

Hi Everybody, I've had quite a few e-mails and questions about will I be restocking the soaps for saffron. The answer is yes, but unfortunately I wont be able to get one of the ingredients needed till the end of January now. My supplier e-mailed me this morning apologizing for the delay.  I don't want to try another suppler as my current one is so good and I don't want to compromise the quality of the finished product. On a positive note there will be the following fragrances available. (I am not making unscented on this run as there was a request for it but only one was purchased.) White chocolate and raspberry muffins INGREDIENTS 2 cups (300g) self raising flour 3/4 cup (165g) caster sugar 3/4 cup (130g) white chocolate bits 1 1/2 cups (180g) raspberries or mixed berries 2 eggs 1/2 cup (125ml) vegetable oil 1/2 cup (125ml) milk METHOD Preheat oven 180 (160 fan forced) line 6 hole 'Texas' muffin or 12 muffin pan with paper cases.  Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl, then chop about half of the raspberries and mix both the whole and chopped berries with dry ingredients (reserve some of the whole raspberries and place in bottom of paper cases) Make a well in the centre of the bowl. Whisk eggs, oil and milk together and pour onto the dry ingredients.  Using a wooden spoon or spatula, gently stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. (too much mixing may result in tough muffins)  Spoon the mixture among the paper cases and bake for 15 minutes...

Cooking Time: 20 minutes Makes: 12 INGREDIENTS Melted butter, to grease 3 cups self-raising flour 1 cup dessicated coconut 1 1/2 brown sugar (for main mixture) 200g butter, melted 1/2 cup) milk 4 eggs, lightly whisked 4 1/2 tbs apricot conserve 2 tbs demarara sugar (to sprinkle on top) 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon Ground cinnamon, extra, to dust 1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract METHOD Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush six 200ml-capacity muffin pans with melted butter to lightly grease. Place the flour and caster sugar, coconut in a large bowl. Add the butter, milk and egg, and stir until well combined. Spoon two-thirds of the mixture evenly among the prepared pans. Spoon 3 teaspoons of conserve into the centre of each pan. Top with the remaining muffin mixture and smooth the surface. Combine the demarara sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the top of the mixture....

Making different cakes all week to support the RSPCA   I am making a different type of cupcake / muffin every morning. Today's: triple chocolate cupcakes with a dark chocolate ganache. My office smells ridiculously sweet and like a chocolate factory!     Today's recipe: INGREDIENTS 100g dark chocolate 1 cup (250ml) water 125g butter, softened 1 1/4 cups (255g) brown sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups (225g) self-raising flour 1/2 cup (75) plain flour 1/4 cup (30g) cocoa powder 1 Tablespoon good quality vanilla extract Chocolate sour cream ganache 300g dark chocolate 300g sour cream METHOD Preheat oven to 160°C. Line 18 x 1/3-cup (80ml) capacity muffin pans with paper cases. Combine the chocolate and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Use an electric mixer to beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy.
