※ Chicken Jerky for Dogs

Image
Miguel the pug LOVES it! When you make your own homemade chicken jerky dog treats, you’re ensuring that your dog gets only the absolute best; 100% healthy and 100% safe treats. There’s no filler, no chemicals, and no preservatives. It is completely natural and healthy. (little to no fat!)  I recently discovered a lot of treats from the health food shop use a bleaching agent on their treats so I stopped buying them. Ingredients: Chicken fillets (use as many as you like but it is worth while doing at least a kilo or two to make it worth the cooking time. Method Remove all traces of fat with a knife & cut chicken into very thin strips and place straight onto cooking racks. Place the chicken fillets on the racks. Place them as close to each other as possible without touching. Slide them in the oven on the lowest temperature possible, I also tuned the fan on top and bottom. (I have a smeg oven)  Should take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours to finish — depending on your oven.

INGREDIENTS 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter (room temperature) 2 cups of sugar 4 eggs (room temperature) 3 cups of sifted self-rising flour 1 cup of whole milk (room temperature) 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract  1 teaspoon Raspberry flavour Few drops of pink food colouring 1/2 small jar of jam** ICING Lemon icing: 150g Block Cream Cheese 1/3 cup icing sugar, sifted 3 teaspoons lemon juice TO make the icing, mix together all the icing ingredients until well combined, I generally use a mixer as it gives a nicer result than hand mixing. ** I used my homemade mixed berry jam, recipe here: JAM METHOD Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Grease and flour (2) 8 inch cake pans. Using a mixer, cream butter until fluffy. Add sugar and continue to cream for about 7 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each egg is added. Add flour and milk (alternating to creamed mixture), beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla to mix Divide batter equally into two bowls. Add r

※ Slow Cooker Beef Coca Cola Ribs (recipe)

They turned out even better than the normal version. Slow cooker worked a treat. Variation of previous recipe, now with beef and slow cooked. INGREDIENTS 1 Shallot finely diced 1 Tbs Hot sauce Pinch Smoked Salt 2 Cloves of Garlic Crushed 2 Cans Cola 3 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper 1/2 Cup tomato sauce 1 Jar apricot jam (small) 2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar Dash liquid Smoke Pepper to taste About 8 - 10 large beef ribs * tablespoon olive oil * You can use however many you want really. There is tons of sauce left over.  METHOD Brown off ribs in a hot pan with some olive oil. While you are browning the ribs, combine all the other ingredients in the slow cooker. Cook on low heat for about 4 hours or so. (I cooked mine a little too long and the meat was too soft. ) Take ribs out of slow cooker and place on a baking tray. Simmer the remaining sauce in a saucepan until it reduces to a consistency that will stick to the back of a spoon. This can take qui

I will post photos of the results tomorrow, the method also. I also decided to try beef ribs as I have never had them before. The house already smells so delicious.
